Job Title: Truck Driver (Vehicles over 3.5 tons)

As a Truck Driver at JM, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods using vehicles over 3.5 tons within Germany or across Germany if you so wish. You will ensure timely deliveries while complying with German and EU regulations concerning driving hours, load security, and vehicle maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safely operate trucks (over 3.5 tons) for long-distance and regional deliveries within Germany.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Secure and check cargo in compliance with VDI 2700 standards to prevent shifting or damage.
• Accurately maintain and use the tachograph to record driving hours, breaks, and rest periods as per EU Regulation 561/2006.
• Comply with German traffic regulations (StVO) and all company safety policies.
• Manage fuel consumption and ensure environmentally friendly driving practices.
• Report any delays, mechanical issues, or incidents to the dispatch or fleet manager promptly.
• Communicate professionally with customers and partners during deliveries and pick-ups.
• Handle basic vehicle maintenance and ensure compliance with scheduled technical inspections (TÜV).
• Valid Class C/CE driver’s license (Class C1E or higher) to operate vehicles over 3.5 tons.
• Valid Driver Qualification Card (Code 95) in accordance with EU Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Knowledge and compliance with German and EU driving regulations, including tachograph use and working hours/rest periods.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience driving heavy goods vehicles (HGV) in Germany or EU.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and understand load security regulations (VDI 2700).
• Strong understanding of road safety protocols and a clean driving record.
• Basic knowledge of spoken and written German (proficiency in English is a plus).
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage routes.
• Professional and courteous demeanor with good communication skills.
• Experience in international freight or cross-border transportation.
• Familiarity with ADR regulations for transporting hazardous materials (if applicable).
• Certification in defensive driving or similar safety training.
